New Theme Days

Jr. Pet Match Maker - Monday, March 15

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to help animals find their new families, their forever homes… their perfect match? During this fun and interactive day of camp we will learn how to become animal match makers. By exploring the adoption process and getting to know some of the dogs and cats of AAWL/SPCA, we will help some great pets find the path that leads home.

Wake Up Earth - Tuesday, March 16

Spring is a time for awakening; weather warms, plants flourish, rain comes in plenty and animals enjoy the spring bounty. Through live animal interactions, games and crafts we learn about the changes in the Earth and the animals that spring brings about. Come and explore with us as we celebrate the coming of spring

Dog Days in the Desert - Wednesday, March 17

Living in the Sonoran Desert offers many hazards to our pets, especially in the spring. Learning how to protect our pets by taking precautions when we walk, avoiding sticky situations like cactus. Building first aid skills and studying the animals we encounter in the desert can help us to protect our pets. During this important day of camp we will explore all of these topics as well as visit the AAWL/SPCA vet for important tips on living in the desert with pets.

Blooms, Birds and Butterflies - Thursday, March 18

With the excitement of spring comes new life in the desert; plants bloom, birds return and butterflies are out in full force. On this day we will study butterfly lifecycles, create bird feeders and learn about the important role of flowers to many animals that call the desert home.

Too Much of a Good Thing - Friday, March 19

When we think of spring we often think of baby animals. While kittens and puppies are adorable, cute and cuddly, there are simply not enough homes for all of the unwanted pets. Through interactions with AAWL/SPCA dogs and cats we will learn how and why we have “too much of a good thing” and what we can do to stop the problem.
